Pastor Chet Lowe is the Senior Pastor of Calvary LIFE in Gardena, California, where he leads with passion, vision, and a commitment to glorify God through L.I.F.E. (Learning the word, Investing into relationships, Following the way of Christ, and Engaging our world).
The Journey of Faith
Born on September 1, 1970, in the Bahamas, Chet’s adventure with God began at just seven years old when he started his first ministry—a Vacation Bible School for neighborhood children in his parents’ garage. Raised in a loving Christian home by his parents, Ira and Pam Lowe, he absorbed the foundational truths of practical Christianity that would shape his LIFE’s mission.
God’s call on Chet’s LIFE became clear at thirteen when he joined a youth team traveling to South Korea to build a church. A year later, another adventure took him to Liberia, West Africa, to build a schoolhouse. These formative experiences confirmed his desire to serve the Lord regardless of the calling or location. For a young man from a small island, he embraced Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.”
Family & Ministry
In 1994, Chet married his wife, Andrea, and together they’ve dedicated their lives to serving God’s Kingdom. Their partnership in ministry has been a powerful testimony of faith, resilience, and joy.
During this season, their family grew with the adoption of three children from Liberia and the birth of two more children.
Leadership Experience
Upon returning to the United States in 2000, Chet joined the staff of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, where he had been a member for 15 years. He served as both the Adult Family and Outreach pastor, overseeing multiple ministries including Couples, Biblical Counseling, Singles, Parenting, Foster Care, and Global Missions. During this time, he completed his Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling and welcomed two more children through natural birth.
In 2021, through much prayer and fasting, God led Pastor Jeff Gill of Calvary Chapel South Bay to transition church leadership to Chet. Today, the church is known as Calvary LIFE, where Chet and Andrea continue to lead with vision and purpose.
Author of “Living Parable”
Pastor Chet is the author of “Living Parable,” an inspirational account of his LIFE as a messenger of God. The book tells the story of his passion for God’s work and the adventures that have shaped his ministry.
As Chet writes: “The scriptures record that we are living epistles for others to watch and follow. Our LIFE’s story reflects God’s glory as the plot of our existence unfolds for the world to see that He is alive, as He works through His people.”
Pastor Chet believes that LIFE is meant to be an incredible adventure with Jesus. His ministry is built on the foundation of L.I.F.E.
